![]() ![]() Most experienced CWAPs will tell you – “packets don’t lie” and “show me the PCAP or it didn’t happen!” How do you do that if you don’t have dedicated tools such as a Fluke/NetScout Optiview XG, an Ekahau Sidekick with Ekahau Packet Capture, a MacBook with Wi-Fi Explorer Pro, or a laptop with AirMagnet Wi-Fi Analyzer PRO or OmniPeek protocol analyzer that can be sent to the site for remote troubleshooting? Even if you had these expensive mobile tools, is it reasonable to expect the personnel onsite to be able to configure and utilize the tools? Probably not. ![]() ![]() But how do you do that if you are troubleshooting an issue thousands of miles away and its not cost effective to travel to the site? One inexpensive solution is to be resourceful and leverage the tools that you already have at your disposal. It’s easy enough to load Wireshark on a laptop and perform a packet capture to see what’s going in the RF and troubleshoot connectivity issues. ![]()
